A good all round team spirited game.

As this was a friendly I decided that all the boys should have a bowl, so out we went for the first innings with Wargrave fielding first. Boyne Hill were slow to start and our tight bowling kept the runs down, Jamie Rowson picked up our first wicket with a run out, and then followed a lovely caught and bowled by our new comer Ellis Martin. The last two wickets followed in the later overs, with a catch from the stand in wicket keeper Chris Hattey and a lovely bowled by Toby Sharpe.

The boys showed good team spirit with the older boys helping the younger ones and encouraging them with their bowling, a very good captaincy from Cai Andrews.

The second innings saw Wargrave bat, we started off strong, and looked like winning the game quickly with a 25 from Grant Taylor, 11 from Archie Griffiths and 25 from Cai Andrews. The runs then slowed down, but it was good to see the younger members of the team having a bat. At the nineteenth over we needed 4 runs to win, with two very excited teams, Kieran Wylie came in to bat and managed to bring it down to needing 2 runs off the last ball with the help of Ellis, and a determined attempt at 2 runs they managed to only get one run, which resulted in the game ending on a good draw.

A good game played in the spirit of cricket, thank you boys for being patient and letting everyone contribute to the game, it is good to see a fairly new U13 team form.

A special mention to Jamie and Ellis on their first club game, the future looks bright.
