Boyne Hill 4 v Wargrave 3 – Division 8a - http://www.tvlcricket.com/scorecard.php?Match_ID=5216
Boyne Hill elected to bat first on a hot day, a good wicket and a fast outfield, and accumulated an impressive 260 for 8 from their 40 overs. Owen Roberts (72), Arindam Ghosh (52) and Umair Imran (60*) were the chief contributors for Boyne Hill with Scott Walker (7-0-24-1), Kevin Rapley (7-0-35-2) and Tom Walker (9-2-37-2) bowling well to ensure that the score remained within reach.
The extended tea break to watch England v Sweden may have had a distracting effect because Wargrave lost four early wickets on the resumption, putting them in a very vulnerable position with Umair Imran (10-0-48-3) doing the damage. However, Wargrave fought back magnificently with 13-year-old Sravan Konidena the star of the show, scoring 112, and son and father combo, Christopher Hattey (47) and Michael Hattey (42*), adding impetus from the other end. Konidena’s was out stumped shortly before the close, but his wonderful innings was enough to help Wargrave succeed in the run chase with just 5 balls to spare.
