In a tight match against Henley Wargrave 9's lost due to dropping to many catches.

On a lovely sunny evening Wargrave batted first. Due to some tight bowling Henley restricted Wargrave to a total of 242 in their 15 overs. This total was due mainly to the last pare of Tom Walker and Freddie Lewendon who managed to score 20 runs in their 3 overs. This was due to some great running between the wickets.

Henleys reply was built around a solid opening partnership. One batsman really played well and he scored 16 runs on his own in his 3 overs at the crease. At this point in the game Henley looked well on their way to victory but some great bowling by the team brought Wargrvae right back into the match. Some lovely bowling by Sammi Colvin, Fenn Winagte and Freedie Lwedendon meant that with 3 overs Wargarve still had a chance of winning, if they could take some wickets. Tom Walker bowled the 13th over and proceded to take 1 wicket but he also had a a catch dropped, which was to prove costly. The 14th over by Fenn also produced a wicket but off of the last ball of that over a easy catch was dropped which would of meant Wargarve would of been in front at that point. As it was they needed to take 1 wicket in the last over. This was bowled by Sammi. Sammi bowled a lovely over but with the Henley player defending every ball a wicket didn't materialise and Wargarve ended up losing by 2 runs.

Over all this was a game that Henley just about deserved to win. Wargrave though never gave up and if either of those 2 catched would of been held could possibly of won.

We need to improve our catching our running between the wickets and our accuracy of bowling. We give 2 many extra's away and this was probably the differnce between the 2 teams.
