Great win over Hurst

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first Wargrave soon found themselves in trouble when after the first 3 overs the opening pair of Dylan and Gabriel were out 3 times. Capt Fenn Wingate then steadied the team and with partner Will Brown started to move the score on. The next pare of Smmi and Max then excelerated and started to hit the Hurst bowling around the pitch. Sammi particularly favouring the mid week boundary. There was also some terrific running between the weeks. The final pare of Tom and Freddie carried on the momentum with Tom hitting some lovely shots, especially through the offside. One in particular was a authentic dive through cover. They like the pare before also ran very well and had moved the score up to 275 at the end of the innings.

It was now Wargraves turn to bowl. Gabriel bowled the first over and set the tone for the rest of the innings. He took 2 wickets and Hurst were never in the game after this. There were some other good bowling performances from Max and Dylan and from Sammi. Only one Hurst batsman really troubled the boys and he took Tom for 12 off of his last over. When sammi bowled the last over and took 2 wickets it really summed the match up. Wargrave being to strong for Hurst.

Great performance by the boys today, they batted first and managed to get themselves out of a tricky situation to score a reasonable total. Our batting is getting better by the game but there were still some of the batsmen missing straight balls and getting bowled out. 5 or 6 of the boys have got the message about running between the wickets and its helping us get better scores.W e just need the others to catch on and we will be flying. We bowled very straight, with veryfew extras and we fielded well. Though once again we dropped two catches which we need to correct.

All in all its a very positive and extremely good to see.
