Scott has been with the club for many years and as found success in a lot of those. As a fiery fast bowler, he would rip through many a batsman in the Berkshire league and Chiltern league alike. After falling in love with tap dancing, he has decided to incorporate this into his run up and delivery stride. But Scott is still bowling as well as ever and we look forward to many more wickets in the 2011 season.
1) Best game you've been involved in a Wargrave shirt?
Playing at a club like Wargrave it seems inevitable that you will play in some close games. There was tied game v Penn one year and a great game v Yateley back in Andy Beales days as captain. Also I can remember from our championship season of 1999 three great games. We had a tied match with Wraysbury plus a nail biting finish at Taplow. Where with 30 runs still to win and the last pare at the crease we managed to get over the line and win by 1 wicket. The best though has to be the game at Hurley that season. We were bowled out for 97 and through some good cricket and a truly memorable over by Martin we managed to win by 1 run. This game could have had a book written about it on its own.
2) Best track in the Chilterns League?
Honestly as a bowler Hurley. But for a proper game of cricket it has to be Wargrave. It’s a good batting track but as a bowler if you put the ball in the right areas you always have a chance of a wicket.
3) If Wargrave could sign any player in the world, who would you sign
and why?
I thought this was an easy question, but it’s not! Dale Steyn. He’s the best fast bowler around at the moment and bowlers win you match’s. If I could choose anyone from history it would Curtly Ambrose.
4) Best innings from a batsman you've seen whilst playing for Wargrave?
Easy, Rowan Ames at Littlewick Green 20 July 2002. In a partnership of 130 and he got 120 in 12 overs. Brilliant, as he got hit on the head while batting as well. Nobody else got over 20 in the match. Just a great innings by him.
5) What's playing all the time on your ipod at the moment?
Beady Eye and another new band, Traffic!
6) If you could be anyone in the club who would you be and why?
Phil Norris. 400 Berkshire league rabbits is the stuff legends are made of.
7) What did you do with your weekends over the winter?
I have spent the winter managing and coaching my daughters football team. Which if anybody has ever had a go at, is a full time job.
8) You have £20 for a take-away, what do you buy?
Indian. Meat madras, rice and a Keema Nan. That’s my idea of heaven. Plus beer of course.
9) David Gower or David Lloyd?
I like both but if pushed Gower.
10) Best game you've ever been to (not involving Wargrave)?
Surry v Hampshire quarter final of one of the 50 competitions about 2005. Surry scored 360 odd and Hants chased it down and got the runs with an over left. Michael Clark got 200 for Hampshire. Got hammered with Driscol and Tin into the bargain.
