This time last year our u9s found themselves achieving an interesting score of 178 for 16 at Peppard. Fast forward one year and things are looking a bit rosier.

The 2016 u9 team batted first, and as soon as Achint hit the opening ball of our innings for 6, we never looked back. Some strong batting throughout, with boundaries from Max, Ash and Sam in addition to Achint, meant we set out highest total of the season - 291 for 4.

In the field we were really sharp - a good catch and great run out from Ash, along with a diving catch from Max were the highlights, but our all round fielding and backing up meant we kept the pressure on the batsmen throughout. Well done to Sam and Lubin for getting wickets, and good wicket keeping from Finlay and Achint. Along with some strong fielding from Lubin, Teo, James and Xavier, it meant we managed to contain Peppard, even though we were a player short in the field. The eventual Peppard score of 276 for 3, meant a deserved victory for the boys.
