Winning the toss and putting the opposition into a bat a discipined bowling and fielding display saw wargrave restrict Newbury to 182 of 52 overs. Archie WIthers with 3 for 39 from 11 overs and captain Scott Walker 4 for 24 from 9 oves were the pick of the bowlers.

In reply Wargraves struggled from the start. Wickets fell at regular intervals but when Woods was joined by u17 player Dave Jordan the total was reached in the last but over. Great credit to Newbury for competing to the end but in the end wargrave & woods imparticular just had enough to get over the line.
