Wargrave's top order batsmen collapsed to 60 for 9 against good bowling from the Henley medium pacers, Zac Jones (7-21) and Simon Wheeler (2-25). Jones was rewarded for his accuracy with five batsmen bowled and one LBW.
It wasn't until Kevin Rapley joined Jack Clark that any respectability was brought to the Wargrave score. Both batted sensibly and well in their stand of 54 with Clark contributing 36 and Rapley 22no raising the total to a disappointing 114.
Even this looked a good total when Henley batted, falling rapidly to 10 for 5, three of which fell to the spin of skipper Mandip Sohi. An unlikely victory looked on the cards for Wargrave until Alex Price and Prakash Gurang took control. Contributing 69no and 31no respectively they coasted to victory with 16 overs to spare.
Wargrave will look for a considerable improvement in their next game away to Burnham on Saturday.
