Wargrave fall agonisingly short of picking up a first win of the season as they ended three runs short of the daunting 267 target set by Hayes.
The Middlesex side rattled along and declared after only 47 overs, with Raman Lall (119) and captain Pyara Sidhu (52no) leading the way.
Neal Robinson (4-65) was the standout performer for Wargrave ably assisted by Euan Woods (2-42)
In reply Mandip Sohi set the tone for a brave run chase by smashing 45 from 26 balls, being backed up by Imran Malik (49), Euan Woods (40) and Neal Robinson (47no). The lower order continued the chase with Sam Bowers' short but explosive innings of 23 (including three sixes) from 9 balls. Eventually, over restrictions won and, needing a six of the last ball to win (four to tie), Neal could only manage a single.
