Harris Tons up and Wargrave win

An unbeaten Wargrave opening partnership between JJ Harris (102*) and Luke Taylor (55*) in 22 overs for made short work of Sonning’s 179 for 9. Starting early to allow time for the England v Sweden game, Sonning batted steadily after winning the toss with S Mankey (87) the only significant contributor. Mankey was out to the first ball after the two hour “football” tea break, which put paid to a competitive total, and Sonning’s innings petered out with Arul Appavoo (4-37) and K Graham (3-45) taking the bulk of the wickets. It was never going to be enough on the good Wargrave batting surface and Harris and Taylor were in no mood to hang around!
