The u11s enjoyed their first experience of the Knowl Hill pitch, claiming their fourth win of the season against Finchampstead Falcons.

A tidy bowling effort, only offering 3 extras off the first 8 overs, meant the Finch batsmen were never able to get the scoreboard moving swiftly. And when combined with a steady fall of wickets, the boys managed to keep the opposition to a target that always looked reachable. Special mention to our u9 guest player, Finlay, who picked up 2 wickets in his first over and 3 overall. He was ably supported by Josh, Zack, Thomas, Ash, Freddie and Charlie who all picked up a wicket each. All of which meant the boys needed 229 to win.

Having reached 250 half way through their innings, following boundaries from Thomas, Achint and Ash and solid batting from Joseph and Angus, it appeared that victory would be a doddle. However, Zack and Charlie added a bit of excitement to proceedings by losing 4 wickets in an over, to keep us all interested. In the end, Freddie (who top scored with 25) and Finlay, bought us home in a controlled fashion with a total of 259, so a 31 run victory.

Some learning points regarding running between the wickets - loud calling rather than whispers please, and backing up for quick singles (which Josh excelled at today). Overall though a good all round display by the boys, and well done on another win.
